I asked if there was a 12 step program too. I was told that joining a local Orchid Society is the answer. It's the only place beside OB that you don't feel like you're out of control.
Speaking of which I went to an "open house" at a greenhouse and bought amazing Phals. One had 8 Keikis. They were slightly infested but washed them down-changed their pots and medium and they look much better. It took me several hours but now it's all worth it.

I recently also contacted an orchid society, though they don't meet till every 4th Tuesday of every month! I have to wait 2 more weeks!!!!!

There is usually more than one society in your area which has a different meet date (wow it does sound like AA). You could probably go more than once a month. The trouble is that they usually have 'sale' tables where other members sell orchids. This can be good or bad. I have sold a few orchids at my meetings. I have given some away 'free to good home'. And I found it is a good place to exercise control. I don't have too much trouble until they have Phals out then I have to buy one.

That's like putting a bar, with a drug dealer as the bartender, inside of rehab!

Yah, that's about it---Funny. I was thinking the same thing. You can change the addiction but you can't change the addict.

Yes I see what you're sayin....I would go for the other societies, although I guess its a good thing they're over two hours away!
Its a good thing the 'chids didn't cost more than $5 or $6 each...I would be broke for sure! I just couldn't get a few I guess! I am leaving in a few months and I wante to obtain some spiking plants and try mounts and different growing styles before I leave. So I will ebjoy the blooms then I will have to find them a nice home to reside till I come back or I will just have to adopt them out
I wish I could take them with me but they won't survive in the "sandbox"

But after these chids come home, I think I will be busy enough with them...HOPEFULLY...that I won't have to venture out to get more.......

Good luck on that idea! The old addict adage,"I'll stop, after just one more"...riiiiight, you just keep tellin' yourself that.

Ooh! Take care of yourself over there in the "sandbox". Yikes! You have chids to come home to!
