Default Last weeks purchase finally opened up!

I mentioned getting this one with the Pot. Burana Beauty 'Burana', last week. I told everyone I would post the pics, when it opened..... Well, here you go! Pot. Caesar's Head 'Carolina Autumn':

Also, a division from my (terrestrial) Arundina graminifolia bloomed, yesterday, also known as the "bamboo orchid". This is a tiny, one inch blossom, atop a three foot, cane-like reed that looks a lot like bamboo. I have a couple of them planted in the yard, as landscape.

The Arundina graminifolia is adorable too

The Burana was the one I posted last week, but I mentioned this one, in that thread.

Both are beautiful. I just got Pot. Caesar's Head and am still waiting for a flower spike, and I'm wondering how big the plant has to be before it flowers? I think Potinara are suppose to be one of the more compact Cattleya species.

Thanks for posting the picture's of the flowers.

Barbara, the blooms on this plant are about 4". It bloomed from the 5th stalk, which is about 12-14" (to leaf-tip)

Is the Arundina graminifolia grown outside? I live in Central California and would like some orchids I can grow in the yard.
