Default Orchids from University of Alberta

Here are some recent blooms from the U of A biological sciences building, where the plants for botany are grown.

Here's Dend Lovely Virgin Angel (name not registered, probably Dend Lovely Virgin 'Angel')

Dend fimbriatum (the label says Hook. and Himalayas I assume he discovered it in Himalayas)

Oncidium Sharry Baby. It is now in full bloom and very fragrant

Phrag lindleyanum is always in bloom. Three spikes right now.

Here's a Cymbidium finlaysonianum. This guy has at least 7 pedulous spikes!

This one is cool! It's a Cochleanthes discolor. (R.E. Schult & Garay, Central Amercia)

Epidendrum radicans:

For the phal fans, Phal Deputy Cat x Mouchete. There are what looks like many sibblings of this. This plant has two side keiki's and four blooming spikes! I have no clue how they get all their phals to give so many keikis! They have a good phal species collection but none are in bloom at the moment

Wow, I love the Cochleanthes, but the Cymbidium and the Phrag are amazing too!

I have that den [Dendrobium fimbriatum] but the var occulatum type which has a dark maroon blotch in the centre which almost looks black in photos.

Dendrobium fimbriatum var. occulatum is gorgeous! Too bad I don't grow many dends. I love the dark centre of those ones
