Huh? Is this a trick question? They are both very beautiful! Very similar, but both beautiful! The color of the lip seems more intense with the Newberry, but I wouldn't throw either of them out with the wash, if you know what I mean.

I think I prefer the 'Mendenhall' over the 'Newberry'. The lip is a bit darker and offers better contrast to the petals & sepals. But like Kiki said...I wouldn't kick either one off the grow rack!

Well I tend toward the Mendenhall bloom seems smoother .. actually I like both of them Gin

Oooh, I like these. Personal preference = no wrong answer.

Looks like the petals on Mendenhall are fuller, but come on - we all know you get this orchid for the lip! I like the spotting on Newberry better.

I realy like them both, but I think Mendenhall has what judges look for, the mirror image, both sides of the bloom are alike..... Jim.

Gorgeous, Jerry! Both are simply stunning, but I like the more clearly defined markings in the lip of the Newberry.

Just what I was thinking.

They are both fantastic. I looked at the Mendenhall first and thought Wow. Then opened the pic of the Newberry and the spotting on the lip just clinched it for me.

Well, ladies and gentlemen the winner is 'Mendenhall' according to the judges. They gave it an AM and even though the flower on 'Newberry' is beautiful it has not been awarded.
