Den. spectabile is easy for me to grow, but it is a large plant. The picture is from last year. It has grown new canes since and they are 4-6" taller. Over all height 36" (close to a meter) and it takes up 18" on the bench.... don't think it would fit on a window sill. Once it got to a certian size the blooms have been reliable and stunning. A gargoyle orchid. I love it. Only one spike open now , waiting for more to open for this years portrait. Belongs to the Latour section, is very root bound so I water it daily.

It is not my biggest tho', the hybrid alexander x spectabile is comparable in size but the Den. Alexander x Andree Millar is much bigger, all from Latour section. This one is so big that I get the same response when I take it to meetings or shows---"Oh my God!"
