Default Spiranthes laciniata - Lace-lipped Ladies Tresses

Seen near the CREW Marsh hiking trails in Collier County, FL in late June.

Canon EOS 400D, natural light, Sigma 105mm macro, f13, 1/250th (to counteract the stiff Florida breezes).

Love the native orchids. We had Spiranthes growing in our lawn in Houston. Here in Washington we have to look for them in the mountains.

Gorgeous orchid, the spiraling spike is awesome. We have Spiranthes spiralis here, which looks nearly identical. I love the natives they are so different from the tropical orchids that we grow.
