Found this plant hanging out on the trails of Parrot Jungle
Went to Florida two weeks ago, and visited Parrot Jungle. Price is steep, but very cool place to go to.
Does anyone know what this is? It looked like it was not planted there.
It was about a foot tall and had no leaves. Only two fat pseudobulbs half burried in the soil/mud.

Cool I live pretty close to Parrot Jungle well closer than a lot of people. I actually live closer to their old location. Hey did you happen to get a pic of their two fat
pseudobulbs? the unburied part?

Hey Tin,
This is the newly invasive Eulophia graminea, originating from Asia.

Tindomul,
there is a researcher that I know of who is interested in tracking this invasive species. His address is:
Robert.Pemberton@ARS.USDA.GOV

I cannot believe it is an invasive orchid.
It used to be a widespread lowland species here but now an endangered one.
There are some images of it.
Eulophia graminea Lindl.

Wow thanks guys for the quick ID. In the pic you see a bit of one of the pbulbs. But I was in a hurry to feed the parrots so I didnt take any more pics.

Been decades since I was last at the PJ. Just how hideous are the prices now?

That must have been really great to be walking around an attraction like that and see an orchid sticking out! Nice!!
There was a great article about these little boogers in the June issue of Orchids

Emailed Robert Pemberton, he appreciated the email.
The price of the PJ was 29 including taxes per person. If I had known it was an exotic invasive I would have snapped it up. Hehe.
