Hi All! How was everyone's weekend. I went to the show on Saturday Night. By the time I got to the vendors they were closing shop. Oh well. So I went on Sunday. This time I showed up 1 hour before the vendors were closing shop. I got my self 2 Blc.'s 2 Slc.'s 1 Pot. a Phalaenopsis and a Cymbidium. My girlfriend Wendy took home the Cymbidium, the Slc. Wendy's Valentine, and the Phalaenopsis. I took home the other three. One of the Blc.'s however had all black roots when I came home. Cut them all off and soaked the plant this morning in rooting hormone from Rays First ORchids. Hopefully thats good. I also repotted it into orchid mix.
All in all, the 1 Blc's the Slc the Cymbidium and the Pot. all came out to $20!!! and 15 on the Phal. and 10 on the second Blc with the rotted roots. I didn't get the chance to check out the roots of the others yet though. Hopefully they are better since they are potted differently.
Pictures of the show and my aquisitions to come tonight. I had fun!!!

Well, if you go near the end, vendors start selling extra cheap so they don't have to take them home. I got my first Blc. not the one with the bad roots, for free. The vendor just threw it in.

But probably the most interesting and rare clones were sold out at the beginning of the show.

Oh sure! I wanted to get myself a Phrag or two, which I saw at the table after they had closed on Saturday night. By the time I came back for them on Sunday, they were all gone.
Can you believe it, all the vendors would just leave their stands, orchids and all on display after they close shop. Security guards have to constantly tell people to put things back cause the vendor is no longer there.

That makes me wonder if they value their plants...if they are just selling them because they aren't awardable. I doubt they would leave new kovachii hybrids lying around, or a phrag jason fischer or a besseae var flavum

Yes, if you want something special you should come as early as possible, despite the crowd and higher prices...

I noticed that too. What I saw Friday was much more than what was left Sunday but I am still happy with my new finds.
