Went to the Orchid Show today!!!!
Hi everyone. Went to the orchid show today. WOW I had fun, though I had to go alone cuase all 5 of my companions flaked out on me at the last minute. All one by one  . Oh well. It was pouring rain when I got there, but I got there! I took soo many picks that I will have to post multiple links to different host sites. Enjoy!

Nice pictures, particularly like the one of Paph. Jerry Spence. Great color captured on that one.

Thanks, however all the credit goes to my camera. All I did was point and click. I threw out a ton of pics that came out too blurry. I had gotten some great pics of giant Catts, and similar hybrids, but the pics were no good .

Great photos! BTW, Paph. Jerry Spence received an AM/AOS. It was in Zephyr Orchids exhibit.

Really! I didnt pay too much attention to the names of the prizes, I just saw a ribbon and oo'd and awwe'd at the plant. Someone should really post the meanings of the AOS prizes in the glossary.

Sorry, AM = Award of Merit - plant needs to receive a score of 80-89. I think this got 89. Other flower quality awards from AOS are HCC = highly commended certificate for score of 75-79 and the top of them all, FCC = first class certificate for 90-100 pts. The AOS certificate may not have been put on the plant. This show was ribbon judged followed by AOS judging. If you have a chance, check out AOS judging at your local judging center. It is fun and educational.
