Default I would like to work in the USA

Hello!

I would like to do an internship=practical work placement) in the USA for 6 or 18 months.

I would prefer to work in an Orchid company, but I don't know in which one?

What do ou think of this: Orchids, Wholesale from Hawaiian Floral Nursery

or Hausermann's , Chicago?

greets

Sebastian

There are actually lots of orchid growers in Hawaii, not just that one and all of them are doing their own breeding, & flasking. Check out this link.

Hmmm. tough decision! Climate wise, I would definately go for Hawaii. However, I looked up the 2, and Hausermann's looks really interesting since they also propagate endangered paph and phrag species as well as other rare species. And it seems to have a very large range of orchids too. I'm guessing that you already read this.
Have you contacted both of them to see if they accept interns? If they do, you could also ask about the activities you would be doing and such, and compare that way. Also, if you've never been to the USA, staying on the mainland would give you more opportunies to visit things.

This is just how I see things, and the final decision is still yours to make!

Thank you for your answers!
Do you know more big Orchid producing/propageting companies.

In the Mainland, perhaps?

I do not know what I shall write to google.

I am interrested in working in California.

I think, I will write an eMail to

Welcome To The Orchid Society of California .

or:

White Oak Orchids but it is only 25000 sqare feet.

or that: Matsui Nursery, Inc.

I think, California is a wonderful state.

Default Oh, what a choice

I think mine would be Chicago for sure based on balmy weather, easy commutes and plenty of surfing to do on Lake Michigan. Obviuosly, I am kidding. They are correct in telling you that there are many orchid greenhouses in Hawaii. Good luck!
