As promised here are the final pics of the display. Thanks to all those who provided comments. After several hours of set up, I was very pleased with the results!

Hi fellow OB's, I'm getting ready to put in a table top display at this weekend's Fascination of Orchids show at the Orange County Fairgrounds (California).
I'm staging the display on my dining room table first which makes set up much easier.
Can you help me by voting on which design you like best?

Keep in mind the actual table is 2 feet longer so it won't be so bunched. Plus there will be more plants on the "tree". There will be green moss that will cover all the pots and ground. If you want, you can post comments under the picture itself.

Lose the terrarium all together

I like #3 with the orchids in the terrarium rather than the fern in there.

I like #2 without the statue. One suggestion. I would move 1 yellow chid down to the red area. It will add a suprising pop of color on the red end and help your eye travel the length of the table. Maybe stick it in the terrarium with the fern. I like the fern in the terrarium because it makes a nice backdrop texturally and colorwise for the red chids.

I like #3 minus the statue. It's not the focal point of the display yet, it draws too much attention (too white). The one white piece with the orchids is a nice touch because of the framing effect and also, the much needed dimension to the entire display and with all things there being organic, it adds interest. Also, I think it would look a lot more interesting if the colors (reds and yellows) were mixed.

Best of luck and if I were back in L.A., I'd make the trip to OC for the show.

Perhaps you should take a picture of #3 without the statue, and also take a picture with how Terri recommends to move one yellow 'chid to the red area. Out of the three photo's you do have posted, I like #3 the best. I agree with the ferns looking better out of the cage! I think when the space is more crowded so to speak, it looks better, but that is just me

Thanks all for your comments so far! I think the concensus is to lose the statue. I'm not sure about mixing the colors up as i thought it might look jumbled up. I was trying to keep like colors together.

I would go for number 1!

Normally, I would say take away the statue as it it too tacky (for my own taste!), however, this time it brings some balance in the composition... if not liking the statue, maybe you could try with something else on a neutral colour for the same balance...
Orchids or fern in the terrarium? there are already so many components in the whole picture, and the terrarium is also already quite "vibrating", so putting a whole mass of plain green in it, reduces the "hyperkinetic" effect of it. The composition looks calmer and more harmonious...

I like # 3, Orchids in the terrarium look much better to me. I also like the statue. But I would move in to the left where all the yellow blooms are around the back area.

Why not use the tree as the center of the piece, remove the terrarium and place the statue near the tree and the rest of the orchids around it ..
I think your eye is drawn too much to the terrarium and not the orchids - Just a thought

I would do #3...scale down the statue, move the tree closer to the greenhouse and locate a smaller statue to the left of the tree, like the statue is going to the greenhouse. I believe the current statue is too big.
