Fox and MSNBC aside (IMO both are unfairly imbalanced - I don't watch either due to the lack of actual journalism, over-abundance of political spin and crazy talk), I did enjoy listening to the Duffins talk about their hobby-turned-business. I hope to be as active and sharp as they are when I reach that age!

I didn't read too much into the "got to be a secret" talk at the end of the story - I think it was meant in humor.

Might be a might cynical today (and is that any different from any other day) but they are actually cliche.

I think the story is wonderful as it really vindicates the rest of us--it just goes to show how one orchid can lead to ten thousand. Another fun story is Al's of Al's Orchid Greenhouse:

While I agree to a point, it was meant as a mystery, to grab you. It didn't me.
