More added to the list - just received the following in the mail today.....
Dendrobium lamyaiae (have been wanting one for a LONG time!)
Sophronitis cernua (another long-awaited addition)
and the seller sent a free gift of a
Dryadella species (I LOVE freebies!)

Wow - I am going to eat nothing but crackers and ketchup packets next month! I have GOT to stay offline for a while. My debit card is so hot it's smoking and floppy-limp right now........egad!

Angraecum seems to be more available of late.

Acquired last week:
Angraecum germinyanum (compot)
Angraecum scottianum (compot)
Neofinetia falcata Koganenishiki x Baekun (flask)

One relatively inexpensive way to acquire more orchids is to start with compots--like my Angraecum. Based on the number of seedlings, when (and if) these get to be adults, each plant would be valued at around $30(?). But these seedlings cost around $6.

The Neofalcata seedlings cost around $1.50. When they get to bloom size, an adult Neofinetia has a value on average of $60-- named with provenance. In order for Neofinetia to have any value or interest to the orchid collector, each plant must be identified. Otherwise, these seedlings would have a value of around $10.

I am not buying these for any kind of investment. So much can happen in the next three to four years!

I went to visit my son and daughter in law over the weekend, in PA. They took me to Parkside Orchids! What a treat to go and spend time browsing his greenhouses. I had been looking for two specific mini orchids and sadly they didn't have either of them. So I bought a Leptotes bicolor, a Pleurothallis prolifera and a Masdevallia bulbophyllopsis alba. Very happy with my new orchids. I came home and ordered the other two from J & L today. Yey!
