Sharry I'm sorry that you lost the auction. That's such a bummer!

shushu: I've wanted a neo for a while. I went to this show yesterday with the intention of getting one, but by the time I got there, they had sold out of all of their neos. When I got there today, the seller had found this one hiding in amongst her plants that she hadn't put on display yesterday, so I snatched it up without thinking. I hope I got a healthy plant. I think so, but it's hard to tell when they're potted in terra cotta.

Went to my local orchid show this year and went a little crazy! I also got to help out with an orchid show for the first time, so that was fun. Anyway, here's what I got:

Paph. micranthum (in bloom)
Paph. micranthum v. eburneum (in bud/bloom)
Paph. micranthum fma. album
Paph. hangianum
Paph. emersonii
Paph. sanderianum (flask)
Paph. Crouching Tiger (in bloom)
Mex. xerophyticum 'Windy Hill'
Mex. xerophyticum 'Oaxaca'
Phrag. longifolium var. roezlii
Phrag. Sorcerer's Apprentice 4N x Phrag. Grande 4N (in spike/bud)
V. (Neo.) falcata 'Amami'
Vanilla planifolia
Phal. mariae

I'll probably be posting individual pictures of the budding/blooming ones soon! This has been the most expensive orchid show I've been to...

I thought I would start out the New Year and only add a couple. I've already lost track. Just picked up 5 yesterday, one at our last meeting, a bunch at my society show, and several at the Ft. Lauderdale show. Repotted one of my Catts and had 5. Repotted a large Den crumenatum and lost count. Kept 2 and donated the rest to my society raffle table. I'm helping a friend tomorrow to repot and she informed me today that she has some to give me. Good thing I can't go to Redlands this year. I would seriously be in trouble. I think I'm hopeless.

Wow, I just bought roth collector package #2 from Orchid Inn! I used the money I had saved to buy a small greenhouse. My plants are doing so well in the temporary grow room I built that I've decided to make it permanent! Plus I sunk waaaay too much money into that when I built it. So 4 NBS roths from the Japanese strain (Val x MM progeny) are headed my way! I can't wait to see what they look like! Pictures to follow...

Update...my friend sent me home with 1 blooming phal and 1 huge Catt that will become 3 or sure. Both need lots of TLC. She was ready to give me more but I asked her to keep them for a few more weeks. I need to sort my guys already here.

There is NO hope for me! I sure do love my friends. We always say there is room for one more....somewhere.
