I spent the bucks on a flowering size gongora pleiochroma - orange, an aerangis luteoalba, and an angraecum didieri.

Bought these
Four Noid Cymbidiums from Costco for 19.99. West Texas we are hot in August. Evenings cool down when sun sets, yet we have trouble getting them to rebloom. I plan on lots of icing down. My own little experiment. Lets see. I like to at least try.

I have been thinking about a list. I would like to try mounted orchids on the Kool-Logs that were mentioned in another topic. I also want to start looking at minis too.
I am open to suggestions on what to get for mounts and minis.

I recommend Vanda (Neofinetia) falcata. Not only are they small, they are also prized for their leaves, roots, and fragrant flowers. IMHO, unlike their larger Vanda relatives, they are very easy to grow. Orchid Board has a sub forum: Vanda Alliance - Neofinetia.

Second chance to buy? Sweet!
The seller offered me a second chance to buy the Chroniochilus virescens, that I had bid on. It cost me a little more, but I had to have it!

Oh great, this thread again. I feel like I'm going to confession when I post these things. Lol, ok so I am going to Redlands in May, hotel room already booked. So I said to myself no more orchids until then. I'm kind of out of space and have to sell or give some away, because I'm sure I'll come home with a lot.
No more until then. It's amazing how one can make room for another orchid, even when they're out of room. Orchid Society meeting this month... Can you believe someone didn't want their mature Dendrobium spectabile?!?!?
I wanted it, like real real bad! So now that's it, no more orchids until Redlands.

Haha! Good, glad it's not just me. Felt a little guilty about it, not that it was expensive (it wasn't... Bonus!), but on top of my agreement with myself, I had just gotten finished discussing with the husband that I agreed I had too many for our space (I do.)
And then I go and come home with this. Hey, even he thinks it's "kind of a cool one," (his words) and he doesn't care at all about orchids. Caught him looking at the flowers today...

Cool. So squiggly! Lets see. 30 for a cycnoches (and I prob spelled that wrong) golden shower...65 for a SVO fredclarkea after dark. 30 for a mormode from SVO....AND 29.00 for new pots for all.my catasetums coming out of sleep...and 10.00 for dolomite. I now can not under any circumstance buy any more unless it is one of my absolute must haves on my catasetum list. Macrocarpum, cristatum etc...
