I was just guessing....
I have no idea at all. You know, it had better not disappear forever. I have this phal stuartiana and all those other plants I was forced to buy because of the project (hey, I am an addict...I couldn't help it!). We need to have the project or all is for naught. Sigh.

I agree - I like OB, too! You're pretty lucky, Mr. Broome, being a stay at home orchid dad! Well, guess I am, too. Went to part time work 6 mos ago - took a HUGE paycut, but out of the corporate world (whew!!) and have lots of time for ME. And ORCHIDS. Way worth it!

Do not despair Leafmite! I also bought all three plants just to participate in this year's 2013 Growth Project. These three plants are doing good. I am enjoying watching them grow. There is always an alternative. It is nice to meet more people outside of the good ole USA--more international people seemed to participate in OG.

I got my 2 other Phal stuartianas in & grabbed a Paph delenatii from a local historic greenhouse (have no idea what I'm doing with Paphs yet, but hey, that's why we have the project). Also got my replacement V. coerulesence (sooo... it's not cheating, they're very closely related ) & wouldn't you know it the first rootless plant is pushing 2 new roots & a new leaf thanks to vase culture. I almost feel bad having called them on it... almost, it looked pretty bad at first!
here's to hoping they get it straightened out soon.
also, Matt, what's your handle on the OG?

Matter of fact, if different post up your OG handles everyone (, comfortable with it).
I'm dbroome on OG aka brn_thmbs on this here fine forum.
still a newb

Hello brn_thmbs aka dbroome! I remember reading your mishap with the orchid vendor. I'm glad to read here that the plant is surviving, that is why I wanted to participate in the project--to learn about these plants. I'm pretty good with Phals. But the Paph. and the Vanda--I've not grown either of these two plants. I grow a relative of Vanda--Neofinetia falcata. But I do not think they have the same culture. I have always wanted to own a blue flowered orchid--this V. coerulea fits the ticket.

I hope OG comes back soon. There is tremendous value in sharing growing experiences for the same plants, in various locations around the world.

I use my same forum name on the board as on OG.

Default OG friends

Hey, everybody! Good to see everyone here! I've been going through 'geeks withdrawals.

Joined OB a couple of years ago, but apparently they didn't like my AOL email address. I updated everything, and now I can post!!

Looks like I have some looking around to do...
