ooo, I like this kind of mystery!
Default ooo, I like this kind of mystery!

I organised my husband to pick up an orchid for me while he was away for work. Lots of confusion and fusss and in the end we paid over the phone and my brother in law picked it up and it is now sitting at his house, my husband will get it on Sunday and bring it home with him

BUT....

Apparently there are two plants! I have no idea what the second one is, we certainly only paid for one and it's probably not worth trying to get info out of my brother in law for various reasons. So atleast until my husband gets it/them(if there is a tag) or possibly even until I see them on Tuesday since my husband doesn't know much about orchids the mystery will continue.

So anyone want to guess The seller mainly specialises in cold climate orchids, especially cymbids and Aus natives but I've also bought masdevallia, laelia and bifrenaria off him in the past.

Oh and this is the plant I know I have bought, huge plant for the price, able to divided into probably 7 or 8 plants, I'm going to use it in some landscaping I am doing, mixed in with Oncidium incurvum, the pinks and purples will be great together.

I'm going to be pessimistic and suggest that part of the plant broke off and got potted up separately.

Do the plants look different? Often a couple of seedlings from the same compot end up together.

Not sure whether they look the same. My brother in law is intellectually disabled so info was sketchy. We are quite good customers so while it is possible that it is just a bit from the other plant it is also feasible that he has thrown something in or even just thrown in an extra piece of the same type of plant that was floating on the bench.
