I wouldn't. The flu happens and it contagious but the likely hood of anyone getting sick if they used proper cleaning wouldn't be very high. The only people who I would tell to stay home are the very old and very young. If everyone is healthy you really don't have too much of a risk.

You could catch the flu whether you stay home or go on your trip. I go to both those shows every year and it's never made me sick, it's only made my bank account sick.

I think the media makes it worse than it actually is. Flu shots help a lot too.

Might be too late for the flu shot. The vaccine takes a couple of weeks to ramp up your immune system for the virus. It should not keep you from traveling.

Just take some basic hygiene precautions:
* Wash hands frequently, don't touch your mouth nor nose after handling things until you wash.
* Don't sniff plants. It will be safe after a time, the plant is not the virus host but a means to its spread (someone sneezed or coughed on it).

Please don't miss a trip to Ft. Lauderdale because of a hyped up news story. Wash your hand often, you'll be fine. Plus Fl needs your money. LOL

PS you don't have to worry about the Everglades pythons either.
