Well there's a good idea (duh @ me lol) Think I can make space for it somewhere. Should be all clean now after the soapy water soak and spray. Looks like the buds still have about a month or so to go, but hopefully there will be blooms to share.

Oh that's terrible! One little thing Tucker85 warned me about is not to spray buds with dish soap. He said it caused some of his buds to fail. Good luck! I hope some of the buds still give you a show after being munched!

thanks Ron

Gage - thanks for the warning about dish soap! The buds are still very small, they've just started developing, so hopefully the remaining ones will be ok.

Oh, that's terrible! At least there are still some left.... Oncs can respike quite fast. I snapped a spike clean off an Onc last fall, and it promptly grew another from the other side of the bulb. But since you still have blooms left, then plant may not feel the need to grow a backup stem.

Oh!! How disappointed you must be!! I would guess we all know how you feel right about now.
I agree with Silken, bring that baby in! Don't give what/ who ever is eating at it another chance!! We want to see blooms!!

good point Camille - I don't know if this one is capable of double spikes, tho I know some are - tho the Onc intergenerics I have that can double spike, the spikes usually appear pretty close in time to each other - sometimes as much as a month apart, but usually closer - this one started this spike a couple of months ago (I think) - but who knows? It does have a new growth, but that is a ways from maturing still. But the remaining buds on mine are still looking ok today, so hopefully there will be blooms on this spike.

Thanks Judi - yes, I'm sure something like this has happened to most people here. Plant is inside now! Isolated in bathroom (with insufficient light, but better that than possibly introducing pest to other inside plants) to be safe

Even indoors the plants are not safe, if you have pets! My guinea pig loves to take a nibble if I accidently let him out while the plants are soaking in containers on the floor.

hehe - I haven't had a problem with my cat nibbling on my plants fortunately. Tho, as I was trying to think of somewhere to put this one, one spot I was considering (would have to be on the floor) was nixed because of the possibility of my cat knocking it over - don't know that he would, but figured the bathroom window was safer.
