Default Orchid Shopping today :D

I cancelled our shopping trip to Byrd's Orchids in Lakeland, FL this past weekend due to bad weather. We went this morning instead We didn't get to shop at B&D and Featherstone, who were the guest vendors on Saturday but we had a ball walking around Byrd's greenhouses

I got:

Paph Stone Isles (in bloom)
Bulb Doris Dukes ...I know! Me buying a Bulbo!
C Chocolate Drop 'NOK' which was high on my wish list
and Lc Netrasiri 'Fireball' x Pot Thi-Ti 'Ni" ...Netrasiri being another from the wish list

Yes, nice haul! A Bulbo, no least!

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Very nice acquisitions. Especially the Chocolate Drop! How far away is Lakeland from where you live? Briggs Hill Orchids is about a 3 hour drive one way for me. They have a small greenhouse, but lots of unusual stuff. I'm thinking about making a drive up there.

Hi Terri

I'm really excited about the Chocolate Drop! I went there looking for a Netrasiri but Bill had a large Chocolate Drop in his private collection (that he graciously allowed us to peruse :clap) ). When I asked if he had another, he at first said he didn't but a few minutes later he came into the greenhouse looking for me carrying this huge 'chid!
When I also found the Netrasiri hybrid, I was thrilled!
Lakeland is about an hour's drive, maybe a little more.
