New haul from Andy's
My new haul of minis should be here tomorrow. I ordered new plants for the orchidarium selecting primarily low light/high moisture candidates. Here's what I ordered:
Aerangis fastuosa
Aerangis hyaloides
Amesiella (Angraecum) monticola
Ascocentrum (Dyakia) hendersonianium
Cischweinfia horichii
Dendrobium aberrans (another to join the 2 I already have)
Dracula lotax
Gastrochilus calceolaris
Pleurothallis tribuloides
Tuberolabium (Saccolabium) kotoense
None of these needs more than 1000-1500 foot-candles and every one needs or tolerates high amounts of moisture and humidity.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Good to know! I've only seen the picture and it looks cool to me.

Good luck with your Dyakia. I have two new ones and hopefully they won't die on me.

What was the problem? My conditions seem to fit this guy to a "T". Very wet and warm I can provide. In fact I have the most problem with those that need to dry out. As I recall, you hand mist your vivariums?

No problems yet. Just wishing you luck in general. I do hand mist. I am keeping one in a much warmer environment than the other. We'll see which one is happier in the end.

Just a thought - doesn't hand misting get old? I would think a nice system from Mist King would be better

It does, it gets really old. But there is no way for me to incorporate a misting system in some of my tanks.
