I spent nearly 45 minutes looking for my cell phone once. I finally told the person I was talking to on the phone that I had to hang up and look for my phone. She set me straight.

You know something? I often suffer from lack of confidence in myself and my abilities. Sometimes I come to the board and read and think "Wow! these people are so much better than I am at this." I think sometimes the stuff I post must make you all think I'm a real Dumbo!
Well you know what?
Having read this thread I've realised you are all as big a dorks as I am! I feel so much more at home!

You are so right Marrion. I always feel like everyone else is soooo much more experienced than me... it's great to share our 'Duh!' momments so we can see that really we're all in the same boat.

Yet another "DUH" moment. I looked back a little in the thread and found someone else had already mentioned the same "Duh" moment.
Duh.

DUH!!!
Years ago we were digging a trench to install electrical cable from the garage to the electrical service. I warned my DH to be careful as the phone cable crossed the trench and could be severed easily. Well, guess who severed the phone cable. I mistook it for a small tree root. DH spliced it but it must have shown up somehow at the phone co. They came out a few days later and replaced it all the way from the street to the connection box, some 150' away.

My worst just happened minutes ago (although I'm clumsy enough to top it in the future). Nice little violacea plant I'd received in bloom a few weeks back. As sometimes happens, the bloom didn't last too many days after shipping, but no major problem as I was only expecting to get one in spike anyway. And besides it was forming a healthy new bud. Fast forward to today; before tucking my chids in for the the night and not being one to leave well enough alone, I lifted a leaf to give the exposed roots one last spritz of water. Hey! Where'd the bud go?!? It was here a second ago! Oh there it is on the table. I must have bumped it with the leaf. Arghhhh!!!!!!! [expletives redacted]

Just bringing my outdoor orchids in for the colder weather and... knock cleanly off the spike on an oncidium- by trapping it in the sliding door. How could I be so stupid. So frustrating, and it was maturing nicely too. Gah. That will teach me!
