Default My order from Smiley's Orchids

They arrived today in a fairly large box. OMG! They are BIG plants with looooooooooong roots. I ordered V. merillii x Gordon Dillon 'Lea' & V. Mimi Palmer x tessellata. I only paid $48 and $40, respectively. Although the shipping was more than a plant price, I really don't mind at all.

Take a look at them. Their leaf spans are at least a foot and a half and they had over 3 feet long roots. Unfortunately, I had to trim them shorter to put them in my Vanda house.

Don't they look great!!!

I purchased the SAME cross from her last year and it's in spike now. Love Smiley's. Also, amazing how different each plant from this cross can look

Laura, although Smiely said that it should have "root beer" scent, I cannot smell it. Maybe it releases the scent during the day ( while I am away for work. ). I just love the color of the flower. For some reason, my camera does not capture "purple" well. The color is more like dark brownish purple.
