Default Do you grow in Oklahoma?

Hi,
Do you grow orchids in Oklahoma? My company is transfering me to Oklahoma, to a town called Lawton, I will be working on the Army base Fort Sill. I currently live in San Diego Ca. and was wondering if some one could give me some info on growing my orchids there and what changes in climate I should expect.
Thanks for any help.
Mile

One word cold in the winter ! I have a friend in OK City she grows all of her plants in the house . It is similar to growing in Mo.
If you are planning to have a green house be sure to have back up heat in it . and a good cooling system . In the house it is mainly a humidity issue . and supplemental lights . Gin

Thank you for the reply and information. It sounds like I going to have to make some changes in the way I grow so as to keep the many orchids I have. I really like growing outside in a natural setting.

it gets awfully cold in the winter there with ice breaks that shut down the electricity for days at a time....and summers with over 100 degree days...it is a land of extremes....i have some indoors there with grow lights but keeping the humidity is a challenge.....
