Good Bye OB...maybe?

Hey Everyone,
It may be that I will be leaving the OB, and I wanted to say good bye to everyone before that happens.

I have had a lot of fun and have really enjoyed seeing everyones plants and getting involved in projects and other discussions. Even though my life has gotten busy lately...and I've been a little inconsistent with my visits to the board...I've met a lot of on-line friends here and will miss you all if I do indeed leave.

I'm going to go ahead and leave my e-mail address here so folks can stay in touch via that method of communication. I'd send out PMs, but don't want to accidentally leave anyone out. Here's the address: dgenovese10@comcast.net

Hi Sue,
I was sent an e-mail from the OB saying my subscription was about to expire (I became an OB supporter last year and donated some money to help out). In the e-mail I received, it says "If you do not extend your subscription, access will be removed".

I am unable to donate any money this year because of other things I am involved with orchid wise, and also because things are a little tight now (I am working fewer shifts because of decreased census at the hospital). I thought that if I couldn't donate money this year I'd just lose the extra perks that come with becoming an OB supporter, but the e-mail looks pretty clear to me that I will simply be denied access.

I did send Marty an e-mail about this, but haven't heard back from him yet. That is why I put the question mark on my post. I am hoping that I can continue to come to the OB, but didn't want to take any chances on getting an opportunity to say goodbye in case I can't.

That's it in a nutshell.

Donating to OB is a totally voluntary thing to do and when circumstances change, all we need is a note about it. Marty's probably just swamped but I'll make sure we fix that

David, no worries. We would never deny anyone supporting or not. This is a canned email that's automatically generated by the system. I'd never knowingly send out anything like that. Sorry if I missed your email, sometimes things fall through the cracks on my end. I get tons of email and massive amounts of spam so I end up missing things sometimes.

at any rate, ignore the email that you got and if you could, paste the verbage of the email into a PM for me. I'll see if I can fix the wordage a bit. Your support is very much appreciated. If you need help cancelling your subscription just PM me.

The debit card I used for my FB support expired and I forgot to update the information for a short while. However, I was certainly never denied any access to the board! As Sue and Marty said, donations are voluntary. I sincerely hope that you are going to remain here!!!

Thanks everyone...for the clarifications. I sent the e-mail content to you Marty. Hopefully it will help you make it a little better for other folks down the road.

Maybe I'll be able to become a supporter again when work picks up during the upcoming tourist season...it usually starts in late October.
