Default Went to A&P Orchids today.

My friend Jared, my girlfriend, and I took the 45 minute drive from Brockton, MA to Swansea, MA to visit this absolutely incredible orchid nursery. What a truly wonderful place. The owner, who's a doctor, was incredibly animated & knowledgeable - intensely loquacious & interesting. I picked up a Paph. hybrid he'd grown - need to go back & get some more info on it from him. He was pretty busy watering & maintaining the flowers, but he told us to come back for more information. Anyway, the selection was absolutely unreal - mainly paphs & phals, though. Still - some of the specimens I saw today absolutely knocked me over backwards. I advice anybody in the area to stop in (they're open for retail business Fridays & Saturdays 10a-4p. Otherwise, try contacting them through their website (which is being worked on as we speak) - such a gem in the middle of New England.

Here's the Paph in question. From what I can read on the tag, it says it's ancestry is:

(Shadowmaster x Cocoa Cherry) x (Maude Read x Knock Knock)

Soooo excited...

Sounds like you have a nice complex Paph. aka "bulldogs". Shadowmaster x Coco Cherry is now registered as Paph. Hsinying Cocomaster. The other parent does not appear to be registered. I was able to find Paph. Knock Knock, but not Maude Read.

Thank you so much for the extra info, quiltergal! I could be misreading Maude Read, but that's what it appears to be. Where'd you find this information???

I have a computer program called OrchidWiz (awesome BTW) and I can look up that sort of information. Did I say it was cool.
