I'm back from Hawaii
Whew!!! What a day. We left Kona at 6PM their time (11PM EST) and flew overnight to Chicago then on to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Came home to a bunch of snow in driveway. Got that cleaned out (snowblower) and checked over the orchids (my son took care of them and he has a brown thumb ) I still need to go through the box of treasures from Bill Bergstrom and I'll report on that later.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Thats true. I never knew you were gone, unless you were posting about earthquakes. You had two of those during your stay right?

Nope! Only one. The other was a rumor started on one of the other islands. Also no psunome for those that heard otherwise. The one we had was "an aftershock" of 5.0 that occured in the exact same spot as the Oct 15 quakes. Tourism is off by 11% so far on the Big Island and only 1% on the others.

You picked a good time to come back... Although you missed last week, that was glorious T-shirt weather. We are in the deep freeze now, I don't know if we are coming out any time soon.

You are sort of right - the rainy season started the day I left (poured at the Kona airport as we were leaving) but I had to come back to Michigan snow
On a bright note, I have all the new purchases spread out and everything made it OK. I have plans to convert any two orchids to S/H with this purchase. I am checking and waiting for new roots - the first two to meet the criteria get it!
