What orchid magazine will you recommend? Female
Default What orchid magazine will you recommend?

I have had Orchid Digest for almost a year now, and I LOVE it. One problem; only 4 issues pr year!! I have to wait and wait.... So I wonder if I should subscribe Orchids as well, but I am not quite sure. If the magazine is full of news about shows and exhibitions all over US and info / updating about AOS I will hesitate to subscribe. I am interested in articles and photos like you find in Orchid Digest.

Or maybe the Orchid Review is better!? When I look into their website, I find it more attractive than Orchids. And it's a magazine from Europe!

So - do any of you have both these magazines? Wich would you recommend?

I much prefer Orchid Digest over the AOS magazine, Milda (I am not planning to renew my subscription this year). I'd probably go with Orchid Review, personally.

Orchid Review is a bore, unless you like lots of short articles about European terrestrials.

I reccomend Penthouse... oops, wrong forum...

I find that Orchids varies from time to time... sometimes it has boring show schedules, other times there are great articles and pictures... overall, I personally find nothing too great or interesting about it...

Just to add another to your list, Die Orchidee is a great orchid magazine, as it has many pictures of orchids we cannot have here in the US (like new Paph. species and their hybrids)... the only down side; it's from Germany, and some of it is in German...

Orchid Digest is definitely the better magazine but if you are learning then Orchids is ok to add to your collection.

I subscribe to two australian magazines that come bi monthly along with Orchid Digest so it's not so bad. 4 times a year is the killer!!!

Australian Orchid Review and the Australian Orchid Digest are both well worth having.

I should have mentioned the name of the AOR but thought as she lives in the US that it may not be attractive.

But it certainly is a great magazine.
