Default GROUND BREAKING!

The trench is dug. The forms are being made for the knee wall. Soon I'll have my greenhouse up. I FINALLY! got ahold of the code enforcement guy here in town. They are so strict here. I told him that I wanted to put up a greenhouse and he said 'Well I just bought one and I don't wanna have to pay for a permit, so no problem' So hopefully by the end of the week the knee wall will be up and I can begin putting up the ribs for the greenhouse and maybe even getting started on the potting shed......WHOO HOOOO!

I might also add that it was a nasty rainy drizzly day today that totally squashed my efforts at construction. I was stuck in the house all afternoon staring at my plants, drinking wine and making spaghetti sauce. Fun, but not as much fun as I could have had

Ahhh....what a great thing for you! Congratulations on your ground breaking.

I remember the day, and the feeling, when they came and started on my shade house. It's so cool! I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your green house when it is completed.

Cool

Paul you are so lucky! I am green with envy. Are you going to keep the 'chids' in there all year? What will you heat the GH with?
Its a dream of mine to have a GH but I want mine attached to the house. Lets hope you can get it up before the snow flies. I used to live in Carthage, NY back in the 80's lots of snow whew!!!!!!!!!!!

Paul how many square feet will the green house be?
Where I live you can build a free standing structure of up to 100 square feet without a permit unless you plan on adding electricity then you have to have a permit

well the code enforcement didn't ask any questions at all, so there will be electricity and an 8x8 potting shed attached. the greenhouse is 12x24 (288 square feet).......which in my book allows for lots of orchids. I've already picked out a heater which will make the greenhouse useable all year long.

Lucky lucky lucky you! Mind sharing what heater you have selected so I have something to keep in mind for the future?

Sheridan, I want a green house and a "very large" sunroom attached to the house someday...lol.
