Default Where to buy live Echinacea, please help (UPDATED)

I need to find a company that will sell me lots of Echinacea. I need to have live echinacea with roots and flowers. Does anyone know of this?? I need this for a biology course, I am the laboratory technician and need to provide the class with this. I have only been able to find companies that seel dried up old roots.

Thanks.

Isn't it a little out of season to have echinacea in flower? It is a pretty common perennial used in landscaping, but summer flowering with the rest of the thistles, I think. I could be wrong, I've never grown it myself (on purpose, anyway).

Contact me privately and I'll put you in touch with the person who is in charge of this kind of thing for Michigan State University. Perhaps she has some material for you.

The director of F&B at my old hotel has a side hobby....producing echinacea for health food companies. He has something like 50,000 plants!Unfortunately, it is the end of the outdoor growing season for us here. The leaves have fallen, there has been a killing frost and the days are short. Not too many Echinacea flowers around.

Perfect temperatures in my basement to set spike on my phals!

The professor requested the material on Monday for the first time so now we are all in a bind. Thanks everyone. I'll check the other search fronts tomorrow (other Lab Techs). Thanks everyone.
