Not new but in need of advisment
OK so I was assigned a speech in class, and my speech is on "the orchid in me" which I must desscribe myself to an orchids parts, so far I have gotten this down by desercibing my life to the roots and beautiful blooms that have been showered with love. BUT, I need a quotation that relates a human to an orchid, something that the rest of the class will find maybe amussing or maybe make them want to know more about orchid life. Any ideas?
Thanks for any advice

How about something to do with fragrance? What about needing food every day? How about water every day? How about love every day? How about basking in the sun? We can keep going here Use your imagination.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Don't forget your ability to be finicky as an orchid.

How about "There is a beauty deep within that only emerges with love and understanding"?

I don't know about amusing your class, but I got to thinking about putting myself in your shoes and I decided that today (since I had chili for lunch) Im most like a Bulbophyllum phalaenopsis. Slow moving and a little stinky.
But let me think on it a little bit maybe all come up with something good for you.

I would find something that would be about patience......and orchids. The trials and tribulations of waiting for something to emerge. Kind of like being pregnant, huh?
Is there anything on this earth that we wait with such anticipation as we do to see our first blooms?????
If I find a quote that fits, I'll be back!

Not specifically about orchids, but what about:
"Minds are like flowers. If you let it sit there without soaking anything up, it will dry up." - -Ken Hill
or two of my favourites from The Orchid Thief:
"Everyone I was meeting... had circled their lives around some great desire...a desire that then answered questions for them about how to spend their time and their money and who their friends would be and where they would travel and what they did when they got there...I wanted to want something as much as people wanted these plants..."
-Susan Orleans
"The world is so huge that people are always getting lost in it. There are too many ideas and things and people, too many directions to go. I was starting to believe that the reason it matters to care passionately about something is that it whittles the world down to a more manageable size. It makes the world seem not huge and empty but full of possibility."
-Susan Orleans
