What kind of bark? What kind of orchids? I don't mean to be funny, but a few orchids depend on certain bark species to survive, I have found, for instance, that Encyclia tampensis does best on southern Live Oak bark slabs. That's what I use for mine. Otherwise, I'd suggest thinking about the speed of degradation of the bark compared to debarked limbs. The bark degrades very quickly. You don't want to put any preservatives on any mount intended for any orchid. Just my 2 cents.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)
