Default Wildcatt Database

Hi everyone,

Question: I have the Wildcatt database and am considering updating it but first I need to find out if there's anything better around or is the Wildcatt one really the best one to use?

Thanks

Darren

Wildcat is a great program...BUT...from all accounts I've heard, the absolute best orchid program is Orchidwiz.

I have had WildCatt for years, and really like it.

When it first came out, I decided to try OrchidWiz, and Alex even gave me a "money back guarantee" if I wasn't happy with it. I'm now on version 3.02 - does that tell you anything?

If I was shopping for this type of program (actually I am), OrchidWiz certainly sells itself well on it's website with screenshots, testimonials, faq's and downloadable users guide. I think WildCatt is missing the boat in that area. You get a good idea of what you are buying.

The $20.00 updates with OrchidWiz are nice, especially since you don't have to buy every single one to be 100% updated.

Great! Thanks for that, I hadn't heard of the program before and I particularly like the pictures of the plants when they show the hybdridising history.

It certainly looks very good.

OrchidWiz has made tremendous gains in each of its revisions. I'd strongly recommend it.

Alex, who's developed it, has recently invited submissions for photographs to be included in the next rev. This should greatly improve the photo library, which isn't bad, but given the number of registered crosses, is hardly complete.

Alex is responsive to suggestions for enhancements, the interface is easy to use, and the info is presented in a smooth, intuitive format.

And, as already stated, upgrade costs are minimal.

Well guess what!!! My new shiny disk arrived today.........tried to install it but the drive couldn't read it. COuldn't understand why..........but when I flipped the disk over there was one giant crack extending the length of the disk with the only thing holding it together being the label.

I really hope they replace it, I can't afford another one. I think they will fingers crossed!!!!!!

It arrived in the mail this way, I just didn't check the face before trying to install it.
