Default Tolumnia Red Sun 1st bloom

This plant has lived here two years. It arrived in a tiny net pot bare root. It has not been the fastest grower.

Gorgeous!

I noted similar slow growth when I had them in pots containing any potting media that retained water, but when I switched them over to instantly-drying mounts and watered them very often...BOOM!!!

No more mounts e.v.e.r. This one is a little pokey pants, the others are faster growing. Summer I water every other day, fall and winter, 2x a week. They dry out quickly.

VERY nice. Is it a tad on the orangey side, or is that just the lighting?

Agreed on the mounting again n.e.v.e.r. But after reading the info ES put on another board, I admit I'm tempted to try again with my tolumnia.

I thought yours were mounted on wine corks? No, it's red/burgundy. It's probably my poor photo skills.
