Default Old Miltonia spectabilis

This one has been growing in full sun next to a swimming pool for at least 17 years. It goes almost all the way around the trunk, so I'd say it has easily 300 pseudobulbs.

Unfortunately it was past its prime and the blooms were almost all spent when I took the photo, but it does look amazing for the first couple of weeks.

Edit: If you zoom in you can also see some air plants growing

Too bad a photo can't capture the scent. Very pretty none the less.

I love the way that big "specimen" orchids get. I am totally mystified why people would ever split their orchids up.
