Default Miltonia spectabilis var. mooreliana

Or simply Miltonia mooreliana (according some authors). This one has a big flower, in terms of Miltonias. Brazilian Miltonias (in fact, all Miltonias are brazilian; other south american related plants are now 'Miltoniopsis') are very easy to grow and to bloom. I mount they originally on coconut fiber 'sticks', and as they will grow they root direct on the wall.

Frederico, that's a very pretty flower--and it looks big! Do you grow it warm or intermediate? Does it go through a dry season? Any fragrance? Thanks for posting!

Steve

Hi Steve,

Here the temps are 28ºC/18ºC in the summer and 20º/10º in the winter, I think it's more 'warm' than 'intermediate'; we have a clear dry season in the winter (the Milts. are not irrigated regularly; they are under vine in the backyard wall (ie, shading in the summer, full sun in the winter); they receive only sprays with fertilizer every week/two weeks). This one has a weak fragrance! This particular mooreliana clone has bigger flowers than average, but mooreliana flowers are often bigger than other Milts.
