Based on katrina's post and my own experience, I bet these would do quite well in semi-hydro so long as the plant was able to get over the initial shock and change of conditions. I might have to get another plant or even another species and test this out. I'll have to wait, though, until this cold is over with.

Goodness the size of the bloom to the size of the plant is amazing. It's quiet a beauty.

Thank you for the care tips. I love these flowers! Last year I told myself to stop randomly collecting, and only collect a few per year-- my list starts with trichophilias.
My phrags have done well in constant "boggy" moisture. I keep them (indoors) just like I keep my Louisiana bog iris outside in the pond.
