This a cute little orchid. I saw one a couple weeks ago and I didn’t buy it. I had a few regrets...

Next time I will, it just too cute.

So cute!

I've had 2 of these, and killed them both within 2 years. They are easy to find here, most vendors have it and I regularily see it in garden centers. Maybe the problem is that way they are potted. They are in a coir mix in a net pot inside a plastic pot. I think they were drying out much too fast double potted like that. I'll have to try again and repot in moss.

The flowers are so beautiful, and I love how they sparkle in the light. This is a photo I had taken of the last one I had. Macro lens was necessary on this one!

You really shoudl get one, it's a great little orchid to have if you can keep it alive, unlike me.

It's in a 2.5" clay pot in moss mix. I keep it damp at all times. It does sparkle, and I find it easy to grow. It's been blooming for a long time.

What's in the moss mix? I'd love to try one again, and using something similar to your mix may be a good way for me to start improving how I grow these, and then tweak it from there.

It's from repotme.com. Their Imperial Phal mix. It's cork chips, small leca, bark , (little of that) large perlite, and moss.I've started using it for my oncidiums too and my zygos. They responded favorably right away.

I have small leca, bark and sphag, so should be able to put something together. Don't have cork chips though, so I guess I have the terrible job of emptying wine bottles to collect the corks!

Do you have it in a regular clay pot or the orchid’s one with the slots ?

I’ll keep this mix in mind or maybe I’ll try it in semi-hydro, it might one of these that like it.

It's very tiny. I got it as a tiny seedling last year. I set it in a mini terrarium for a long time to keep the humidity up because it was so little. Last spring I put it in the clay pot. No slits. In my care, it doesn't like to dry out. But it does sparkle!
