Default Miltonia moreliana A. Rich.

This is a special clone that I love so much! It has a so wide lip that it almost hides the ventral petals! The perfume also is something that makes me remind my early orchid days... and it was so many years ago - 25 years exactly! It's amazing how a perfume can bring back so joyful memories!

What great timing Mauro! I was just about to add this plant and Miltonia spectabilis to my list of suggestions for Project 6. The book I have says they are compact, 8-10 inches (20-30 cm), and will grow well in intermediate temps. Has that been your experience? Highly fragrant is always a bonus for me! By the way, it's gorgeous! It's going on my personal wish list if it doesn't make the Project 6 cut. Thanks for sharing.

Stunning! Great growing as always.

That would be a great plant for our project if it can take warm conditions.

Beautiful color, great shape, fragrance. An almost perfect orchid, I think. Bravo!

I have found this little cutie at Carter and Holmes, Miranda Orchids, Ecuagenera and even Florafest Orchids (Australia)

The 1st time I saw a Miltonia Spectabilis in bloom I was shocked! Such a small plant(compared to common hybrids) and HUGE flowers. Makes a great ratio contrast and the flowers are so delectable!!!

Terri, it is not a tall plant, yes, but it has somewhat long rhizome, so you will need horizontal surface. The plant above is mounted on a rectangular (30 x 20 cm) tree fern slab (the pot is there just as a support) that I keep inclined at an angle of more or less 30º. Your book is right , it likes intermediate temps but it has no problems with hot summers or relatively cold winters (as long as you never water it in the afternoons during winter time).

Dorothy, yes, it is an easy to grow orchid !
