Rescue Oncidium
Default Rescue Oncidium

Hi everyone ,
I am new to this forum so if i do it wrong please do correct me !

I bough a discounted oncidium with blooms back in 2013 summer ,bulbs were srunk a bit but we did recover . it was growing new bulbs nicely and then i had to move away and took a plan with me . I placed in evening sun room on top of the corner table (didn't get direct sun light) the room had unstable moisture from quickly dry to very damp and it changed a lot ..
i was watering the plant when the pot was dry and light. but the leaves turned yellow , became soggy , bulbs started to srink badly and lost all leaves, nomatter what i done ..
repoted the plant in fine bark and perlite, removed all the old bulbs. it grew new plan with sogy loongg leaves and didn't look great at all .

We have moved again to very warm , bright place & mid humid place . I just noticed a new growth within 2 weeks of movement . i have it placed on the morning sun sill but it started to yellow so i think it might received too much sun so i have moved it to bright indirect sunlight place . I usually water it every 3-4 days (room temp 23-27C day , 17-21 at night) , bulbs are still badly srunk!! I left it in a luke water with tiny amount of orchid fertilizer over night and the leaves started to feel strong and firms !!! i'll repeat this when it is completely dry !

can anyone please help me to have an idea how to recover it ?? roots look healthy too ..

i want to attach few pics but not sure how .. any help please ?

sorry for such a long text , but i hope it gives some info

First of all welcome to the board. My grandmother was from Ireland, county Cork. An Onc orchid should not be let to completely dry out. They do like bright indirect light other than that it sounds like you are doing the right thing. Don't let it stay to wet but water when it's almost dry. If the bulbs and the leaves are pleated then you are not giving it enough water. You may need 5 post to be able to post a picture.
