Exclamation Odontocidium Hansueli Isler HELP!

I recently purchased and Odontocidium at a local home depot... but when i checked the roots several days later... they were all dead! I have several other orchids such as phalaenopsis and miltoniopsis, and they are all thriving, though I need some feed back on how to grow this new plant back to health. There is currently some new root growth, and I want to make sure I do everything right.

( I have the plant in a 4" pot, and it is in a fine/medium bark mixture)

thnx

Default According to the sources I looked at

it likes cooler temps, although it will tolerate some intermediate and hot. Cold=50-60, Intermediate=68-75 and hot=75-85 degree night temps. Next is where this appears to be different than most orchids: Humidity=40-80%. Water heavily BUT ENSURE PERFECT DRAINAGE. The media rcommended is fir bark amended with coarse sand, coarse perlite, and shredded peat. Hope that helps.

hi, thanks for the help!

I heard that they like it a bit dryer in between waterings than miltoniopsis...

also, should it be kept a bit more moist while these new roots are growing?

Default I don't honestly know.

What you should do is go to the section on the website that is for Oncidium Alliance/Odontocidiums, tell them what kind the plant is and ask them. Someone will answer your question. You're amongst friends here.
