Default Small Miltoniopsis..

Since My first Miltoniopsis has been doing for well for me I have been thinking about getting another. I never could seem to find ones I liked or they were too much Money. Today I was picking up some Butter and looked at the flowers my Grocery store had. I saw a lot of Miltoniopsis but this one I got stood out and I bought it.

The plant is healthy and needs to be repotted its kind of big. The flowers on this plant are small compared to the others at the store and to my own. The leaves also are smaller and so are the bulbs. It is just a very compact Miltoniopsis. I thought since it is so compact I could find room for it.

Are they breeding Miltoniopsis to be smaller? Is this normal?

The flower

I can't say about the breeding of smaller plants as I know nothing about that, but that is one beautiful flower and I hope you do well with it. I would love one like it, but no store around here has anything but Phals.

That IS unusual for a grocery-store find. I like the gold coming out from behind the dark waterfall on the lip. It may surprise you with more size when you have acclimated it to your growing conditions and repotted. Good luck!

Yeah you are right the new growth and rebloom could look different once adjusted only time will tell. It is not a show quality but I like it's size.
