Wow! That's amazing! This thread gave me hope that if switching a tolumina to s/h could work in the Midwest, it could work in Texas too!

Oh, PS, what type of container do you have it in? After reading the article you linked in your post, I am curious if you used a tall container as well or something different?

Give it a shot!

The plant is in a plastic container (I think it used to hold soup?) that I cleaned, cut to size and added two holes about 1" from the bottom. The plastic pot is about 4" tall. That sits inside of the white porcelain flowerpot.

Hi petewall,

your tolumnia looks great!

I just brought home a Red Barry too (and a Genting Pink), and was really hoping to grow them in sh.

How long would you say it was until it "turned the corner"?

It was about a month or so before it started looking good again. Several months later for the blooms.
