UPDATE: Onc. Rex Van Delden 'Pink Bees' Male
Default UPDATE: Onc. Rex Van Delden 'Pink Bees'

Hey guys, I posted a pic of this onc. a few weeks back; it was in spike but no buds. Now it has bloomed quite erratically. Notice my poor attempt at staking this thing; the spike is close to four feet long if not, slightly over that. I bought this mainly for fragrance but so far I can't detect a fragrance; do these have to be really warm or in really bright sunlight to release their fragrance?

I would say "YES" because it seems that when I go into my greenhouse at mid-day, it smells very nice. When its not in full sun and warm, it seems that there is little fragrance...BettyE

Nice!
When I have Oncidiums with very long spikes, I only stake the first 12 inches or so - when the flowers open, they cascade beautifully.
