Beautiful NOID Miltoniopsis

I just bought this today.
I did not plan to buy orchids, but when I saw it, I just had to have it.

On the way home, the brain was working and I was thinking to myself, well, maybe I should not have bought this since it only has two flowers per spike. but the flowers are so big and nice, and oh, the wonderful fragrance is to die for! good thing I bought this. Justification.

These plants now seem to come out any time of the year. I see them all the time although they do seem to have a big season.

Anyways, I wish I could post the fragrance and share, but that is not an option. Oh, well..

I love the Miltoniopsis and that one is a beauty. I have 2, one is doing ok, I got it in flower in August . I just wonder when it will try blooming again. the other I got at TJ's in summer, in flower. I had a previous post showing it's normal flowers that were already open, and it's buds that opened with funny looking flowers. It had 3 growth on it when I got it, one looked funky so when I repotted it I cut that one off. Last month a second one started to look funky, so I repotted and cut that one off. Now I have just the one growth which , so far, looks ok. I don't know if it will flower again anytime soon. I don't know what their usual bloom season is .

I know, right?
Almost all the Miltoniopsis I bought from flower shops and TJ come with no name tag while others from growers always came with a tag.

Well, I think this pink one is perhaps rather easy to guess the name?

I'll do my best to keep this one happy, but for now I'll just enjoy the flowers.

By funky, I think you mean the crinkled leaves??
If so, it is rather common phenomenon on Miltoniopsis when they do not receive enough water during active growing season.

These seem to flower heavily in the spring (a bit earlier or later, but spring is when I see lots of them) and many hybrids bloom one more time in the same year. but basically any time the new growths mature, they will spike and flower.

Each growth can make one to three spikes, so you want to have as many growth as possible to enjoy a nice flower show. Unfortunately, badly crinkled growths usually do not make it.

When you see the actual pb part emerging from the new growth, you know the spikes are to follow soon.

Oh that is GORGEOUS!!! I would buy that one in a heartbeat, great find. My miltoniopsis has lots of new growth so I am looking for flower spikes to appear! Mine flowered in spring last year too.

I guess this one is very pleasing to everyone's eyes.

The store had one more pink one just like this, but it was just opening one flower with some tight buds, so I chose this one.
then they had a sea of white miltoniopsis. white with yellow and dark center like Herr Alexander.
