The scent of these flowers reminds me my first days growing orchids...
These are flowers that really catch my attention. Not only for the perfume, but for the vivid contrast between the pure white and the purple, especially the column wings.

Gorgeous orchid, Mauro, as always! I'm curious, what do you do for a living? You certainly can grow anything, you have a gift. Your photography is excellent, and you clearly have writing abilities that show up in your vivid descriptions of the orchids you share with us. You don't have to answer such a personal question....but you sure have many talents. kudos! kiki-do

Thanks Kiki, it's very kind of you. I like registering my orchids, so I try to catch them as if they were brides before the wedding. But my photography is only acceptable; there are many things I want to learn about yet. I also am the orchid director at our local Orchid Society, so I speak every other week (on Tuesdays) for our fellows associated. I also have a friend, Marcos Campacci, who is taxonomist and has been doing a great job in this area, that also is the editor of a magazine dedicated to orchids named "Brasil Orquídeas", so I write articles on orchids for him to publish in his magazine. As for my daily job, I am an auditor.
BTW, it's not true that I can grow anything... I am not able to grow Stanhopeas, it's proved!!!

It has been said that a scent can bring back more vivid memories than any other sense. In this case, the visual is just as as strong. Lovely, Mauro!

This is so true, Kim. It is impossible for me to smell this Miltonia without being invaded by a nostalgic sentiment of the early orchid days...
