Hi Guys
so it is only a few days since I scored this Beallara Marfitch as a bag baby in Home Depot. Looking at it today, it is just not doing so great. The 2 olderr bulbs are yellowish and soft on the touch, and they lost the old small leaves. The new growth is looking ok, but one leave has some issue also. I am not sure what has happened I do have it only really for days, not even one week! Any Ideas?

let it get used to your environment.....this was kept in a dark place and overwatered....then you put it in its proper light and leaves burned....any store bought plants must gradually adjust to your home sunlight....treat it like an ICU patient; it is still alive with a new growth it will bloom for you if you treat it well

Thanks Bud, so you think this is burned from the sun? I was figuring over watering however this time it would not be even possible for me, I got it like 5 days ago max and it was watered only when I brought it home and re potted it. It was in soaking sphagnum and I hate sphagnum just because it is so hard not to over water in sphagnum here! I moved it from the light spot it had (it had some very late direct sun for few hours in evening.

If those old bulbs rotten, should I remove them and leave only the new growth?

I must come clean, I went to clean the rotten bulbs, and that plant was just one big mush, even the last new growth. I must say, this has never happened to me, in my years of having orchids, I have never killed anything in less than 7 days. I do not think it was all my fault, I mean, I did whatever I was suppose to do, and most of the HD bag babies thrive at my balcony, but this one was not meant to be:-( Sorry Beallara, but Au Revoir! I will get you once in the future again, and promise to care better! Just cam back from HD and returned my first ever orchid, felt kinda bad in that return line, but I spent so much money in HD that it is ok, I think:-)
