Default Oncidium Lanceanum

It's currently 75 degrees at 4:30am in San Diego. I can't sleep, so I'm posting a few pictures of my oncidium Lanceanum in bloom. The blooms just fully opened on Friday 8/30. This is the first bloom for this plant as this plant was originally a division taken from a mature plant this May. I was even surprised that this orchid decided to bloom for me this year. Sorry if the pictures are in landscape. The original files are oriented in portrait.

Default so am I

I'm up in o'side, haven't been able to sleep, sweating "like a pig", even the fan isn't helping this humidity. I have one of my mule ears coming up in bloom, don't know which one it is, ivhave 5 different ones, lanceanum, splendidum... to pepito de restropo, a beautiful hybrid. I am glad I found this cite. I am loooking for paph fairieanum album "hagee" fcc/aos. It was my plant but I lost the division to an ice storm power outage, not in this county, and I am trying to replace it. If you know of any paph species growers, I would appreciate any assistance. Take care and don't get caught in the fan blades.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who can't sleep.

I buy all my orchids locally at a nursery within 5 minutes of where I live. I live in Carmel Valley, so I'm not sure if you'd be willing to drive that far. I only have a few paphs, but the guy at the nursery sells a large assortment of paphs. Is there a specific species you're looking for? I have a Paph. Armeniacum.

Paph fairieanum album "Hagee" FCC/AOS . I got the award about 40 years ago, sold half of the plant to japan, then lost my half to the freeze. I see on the internet that it is around in the U.S. again, but I have not been able to secure a division.

I'll check with the nursery tomorrow and I'll let you know if they have it or not.

What nursery is by your house? I really haven't tried to locate growers in the area.

The nursery is called Del Mar Orchid World. They mainly sell phals, but they have a good assortment of catts, cymbidiums, paphs, and oncidiums, just to name a few.

I appreciate the help, I was going to attend the palamar auction but my nephew came down and we did some repairs on the greenhouse, more important for the winter. By the way, I have been trying to upload some pictures from my ipad to my cite but even though it registers the url# it won't import them. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

I have my pictures stored locally on my iPad, but it seems as if OB is limiting my uploads to one attachment. I think it's something to do with mobile devices. I have no issues uploading on my desktop, so for now, I would recommend using your computer.

I would but I can't get my switch from one tower to the other for one monitor to switch. And naturally the one I need for the connection, I can't get to come up on the monitor. By the way, I think I found a faster way to chat. At the bottom of the page in the quick reply box you can put a message and post right to this cite. No posting ,then answer email ,then back to cite.
