Default Tiny pseudobulb on a large pseudobulb

Hello everyone!

Something strange happened with my miltoniopsis in the past few weeks! On one of the pseudobulbs grew a smaller tinier pseudobulb on top of it. This smaller pseudobulb has stopped growing.

Can anyone tell me what this is and if it is normal?

its completely normal and also occurs in other genera. I have a zygo and a few oncidium alliance plants showing that little growth. It doesn't get any bigger than a thumbnail, and you only get 1 or 2 bulbs where it happens. I even have a miltoniopsis seedling with it. Don't be concerned.

Yes, I was just re-potting my Onc. sotoanum and same thing. Quite common in the Onc. alliance.
