Psychopsis Throwing a new Bloom - Orchid Board

Finally. So this little guy's first bloom was knocked off while I was cleaning the house. It had to have been about 2 days before it was going to start opening. Then it got put too close to the window, and I lost 2 leaves to sunburn and about half of another one. However, after about 10 months, it's put the old spike back into action. I might actually get to see a bloom this time. I'll keep you posted as it goes.
I find it fun to have the first, middle, and blooms stages of the spikes. Helps me know what to look for when I get new plants (hint to others if you've got time on your hands)

That's cool that it's growing a bud again.

I like to take pics at various stages of bloom... problem is I either don't find time to take the ones I intend or don't get them posted if I do

Hi zxyqu! I hope you are able to keep us posted on this one. My friend has one of these and it's not doing anything, so we aren't sure if the care is right or it's just a slow bloomer. It has a tall spike that had something on the end but it looks as if it had bloomed and gone by. Not really sure. It's so wonderful to see what this looks like in the process of blooming. Thank you for posting it's process!

Well since there is a need for a new updated pic, here you go. This is probably a bit less than once a week.
Also, to help your friend out, the first bloom fell off, leaving the spike intact. It's about 2 ft long give or take some. I got it with 4 leaves, and shortly after it started a new growth, and I got it out of the media it came in and put in S/H. About 3 months of having it, my wife accidentally moved it, and it got bad sunburn on 3 leaves, 2 of which I lost, one is still hanging in. That was in October, and since it's been just haning in there putting out new roots, and about 3 weeks ago, I thought the spike was blooming. The end of it chaning from barely green tip to a more fat tip, and slowly over the last week or so, it's started to elongate.
Hopefully that helps. If the plant is healthy, I figure it can bloom whenever if feels like if it's getting enough light. So, as long as that spike is green and not brown, just leave it on and cross your fingers.

Well, I think I'm going to have to report an aborted bloom. Dont really know what happened, but the last few days the bloom turned yellowish, and seems to have died. Sorry I couldn't show you the pics from Initial to End, but maybe I'll get another chance in late summer.

Ok, time to post again! So, after 3 bud blasts, this little guy continues to throw bloom after bloom, and I finally think one is making it to the opening stage, here is an updated pic of the larger bloom. Don't know why it took 4 tries, but I'll take it!
